Thomas Cook launches new Canadian network
Thomas Cook North America has launched its new Canadian network. Teaming up with Advantage Travel and Cruise Centres, Thomas Cook North America is initiating a new tour operator chain across Canada.
Consisting of a dual franchise and affiliate network known as “Branded” and “Lite” respectively, the agreement will provide partners “with the ability to access the Thomas Cook brand and with that its global expertise and strength”. These two new programs that Thomas Cook has launched will be available at a “very attractive price point,” allowing affiliates to benefit from the fact that Thomas Cook, being one of the oldest and best known travel brands in Canada and the world, has more than 3,500 locations globally. This will provide affiliates with a fantastic opportunity to strengthen themselves. Both, the “Branded” and “Lite” programs, will have various benefits.
The branded program will bring benefits to affiliates such as:
- Access to the dynamic Thomas Cook Cruise program;
- Access to leading technology at a competitive cost;
- Access to Thomas Cook Travel Insurance;
- The ability to provide customers with Thomas Cook foreign exchange services;
- Access to a comprehensive marketing program;
- Comprehensive training and Business Development Team support.
“For agents that sign up for our new Branded program, it is the best of both worlds,” said Michael Friisdahl, chief executive officer of Thomas Cook North America.
Although the “Lite” program (a lower cost program) will not include the use of the Thomas Cook brand, it will bring other benefits including: access to Thomas Cook Travel Insurance and foreign exchange services, and a very strong supplier relations program amongst other things.
Friisdahl claimed; “The launch of these programs complements the licensing deal with Sears Travel that we completed in late January. Through the agreement with Advantage, we expect to be introducing the Thomas Cook brand into hundreds of travel agency locations across the country, securing our position as one of the leading travel retailers in the Canadian marketplace.”
Earlier this year, in order to take more control over its own distribution, Thomas Cook North America signed an exclusive multi-year licensing arrangement with Sears Travel, resulting in the addition of 100 retail offices for Thomas Cook North America.
It seems to be a promising year for Thomas Cook North America with these new initiatives in place, as Thomas Cook North America continues to soar ahead of its competitors.
