easyJet: baggage allowance in 2014

Back to news

Travelling with low-cost easyJet soon? Not sure what you can take with you for free? Are there any fees for cabin bag? Read on and get the latest information on easyJet's baggage allowance.

easyJet: cabin baggage allowance 2014

Low cost airline easyJet has two types of cabin baggage: so called „guaranteed baggage“ with dimensions of 50×40×20cm, which you can always take on board, and the second „normal“ type which is slightly larger, 56×45×25cm, and on some busy flights it may be taken into the hold (passengers are not charged for this). easyJet allows you to take only one piece of cabin baggage which must contains all the stuff you want to take onboard – you can't take an extra laptop case or handbag.

No weight restriction applies as long as you can place your cabin bag safely in the overhead lockers without assistance. All details about cabin baggage can be found here.

easyJet: checked baggage allowance 2014

easyJet charges an additional fee of €13 – €25 to all passengers travelling with their checked baggage. The minimum weight you can buy is 20 kg. The cheapest and easiest way to buy additional weight for your hold luggage is online when booking your flight, or later via Manage booking. If you pay for excess weight at the airport, you will have to pay more as it is more expensive.

All details about checked baggage with easyJet can be found here, also check the current fees here so that you are 100% you know the up-to-date rates.

I have paid for one piece of hold luggage but now realise that I don't need it. Is it possible to cancel this and obtain a refund? Thanks.

Do you pay a one off payment for hold luggage or do you have to pay for the outward and return journeys?

I have tried to add a bag to my return flight but the fee quoted is for both flights. My outward journey has already taken place so why am I being charged for both ways or is this the cheapest option?

We mistakenly purchased hold luggae we do not need as we could not view our boarding passes we did not realise we had hand luggage already and Easyjet will not cancel the hold luggae and refund me WHY? this is a genuine mistake we are only away for 2 days as the flights prove!!!!!!

Hi I was wondering whether the hold-luggage fee is for the entire journey or just one-way - so i have to pay twice the fee?

I called customer service to purchase one hold luggage but i was charged around £39 but when I look at my new boarding pass I have it and my family members . Was I charged for all of them both ways or was it only for me both ways . Because the boarding pass before didn't have the hold luggage icon with the information saying to drop it off. Where as the new one does . It shows it for me and 3 family members .
