Back to news

Wondering about the check-in options offered by the Australian airline Qantas? We are here to help.

Save your time and have a look at a wrap up of the basics.

Online check-in

You can begin your journey before you leave your house. Use online check-in to select seats and check-in online from 24 hours up until 1 hour/2 hours before flight departure (domestic flights/international flights). All you have to do is to choose «check-in» in a little box on the right side of the homepage and enter your booking reference and last name. On choosing you seat, print your boarding card

Bear in mind that web check-in is available for you if you are travelling either on domestic Qantas and QantasLink flights as well as Qantas international flights.

Travelling on a domestic route with hand baggage only? Go to the gate. Fliers with checked baggage will need to drop their baggage at bag drop at least 30 minutes before departure. For international routes the deadline is 90 minutes before departure.

Airport check-in

As regards most domestic flights as well as flights departing from London Heathrow, one can take advantage of check-in kiosks not only to check-in, but also view flight details, upgrade, change to an earlier flight, check-in groups etc.

Other than that you can leave the whole thing to the staff of Qantas. Remember to have you bring electronic ticket, booking reference number or passport and visit the check-in counters.

As for the check-in times. They vary depending on the flight. Generally, the deadline for domestic flights is either 30 minutes or 60 minutes for travellers departing from an Australian international terminal. The deadline for international flights is 90 minutes.
