EasyJet opening new routes from Edinburgh base

The British lowcost airline based in London, easyJet is to launch three new routes from its Edinburgh base. Two routes include well known European cities. While the third will be the airline's furthest destination in Europe.

New route to Paphos, Cyprus

Flights to this mediterranean island are beginning on 3 November 2010 from Edinburgh. The ticket prices are starting at £31.99. The airline hopes that flights Edinburgh – Paphos will attract passengers wanting a sunny getaway.

From Edinburgh to Basel and Cologne

Two more European cities will be served from Edinburgh. Since 3 December 2010 you will be able to fly to Basel in Switzerland and Cologne in Germany. These tickets start from £25.99 for both routes.

New base to be opened in Lisbon

With the Lisbon base added, this lowcost airline will have 20 permanent bases around Europe. More than a million additional passengers are expected to be flying to and from Lisbon. If you are considering booking a ticket, you might want to find out what to do in Lisbon.
