Cathay Pacific Airways
Cathay Pacific is based in Hong Kong in China and operates flights from its main hub located at Hong Kong International Airport. Cathay Pacific was founded in 1946 and was named Cathay Pacific because Cathay was the old word for China. The airline operates scheduled passenger and cargo services to Africa, Europe, Australia and North America.
The airline is a founding member of Oneworld alliance and runs its own frequent flyer programs called Asia Miles and The Marco Polo Club. Cathay Pacific was awarded with a Five Star Airline ranking and Airline of the Year in 2009 by Skytrax.
